He co-hosted and co-produced, Elections with Times, the Times of India’s special Mojo and data-insights-based political travelogue show, which starting from Gujarat assembly elections 2017 to Lok Sabha general elections 2019, brought together ground-level insights and opinions across a series of key poll contests.

Singh has also worked with the TOI opinions page, writing on politics and current affairs. While on the edit page, he co-anchored TOI’s daily Facebook video programming focused on the analysis of critical issues as part of a new TOI Digital initiative.

Singh has previously been a consultant at ndtv.com where his work focused on website updating, digital coverage of breaking news, analysis and mapping online competition. He has been part of founding launch teams of several TV news stations like Times Now, Star News, and worked with NDTV and NewsX among others.

He has reported on news and current affairs for over two decades and has been a columnist for India’s leading newspaper, The Times of India, and popular news website, FirstPost. He was among top-10 most-read writers/bloggers in Times of India-Online (over 10 million page views on blogs - Google data 2016-17)

Singh has published several research papers in UGC Care, Scopus, and ABDC journals. He is the co-creator of the Mehta-Singh Social Index, a database that studies the caste background of 4,415 political leaders in India over three decades.

He has conducted numerous workshops for working media professionals on Mobile Journalism, Audio, Video, Multimedia Content for digital audiences, Blogging, Writing and Curating Content for social media platforms.

An alumnus of The Doon School, Dehradun, Singh has a Ph.D in Communications from GD Goenka University, a PG Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism from Indian Institute of Mass Communications, and BA (Honours) English from Hindu College, University of Delhi. He also completed a PG Programme in Digital Marketing from Purdue University and a non-credit Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate..

Dr Sanjeev Singh is one of India’s leading digital broadcast leaders with over 23 years as a journalist, editor, and multimedia content producer in senior positions in Digital, TV, and Print before moving to academia. He was previously Professor, and Associate Dean, School of Modern Media, UPES Dehradun where his primary work involved revamping the curriculum, building a futuristic digital studio, imparting industry ready skills to students, and handling international partnerships.

In his earlier avatar as a media professional, he served as Editor, Digital Broadcasting, Times Internet, where his work included creating digital video and audio content for The Times of India and nine other online platforms of the Times Group including Navbharat Times, Maharashtra Times, Vijay Kannada, Ei Samay, I Am Gujarat and other regional languages (across Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam).

As the head of the centralised digital multimedia broadcasting content engine for the Times Group – he led a team of multimedia professionals across several cities and worked closely with Times journalists in 55 print editions around the country and overseas. His responsibilities included creating original content, overseeing daily digital video news bulletins, audio podcasts, weekly shows and special Group productions (Vote’19, Budget With Times, TOI In Depth).

He also managed the production of new audio podcast programming initiatives in partnership with global universities like Harvard India Centre, Columbia University and other content partners.

Singh was a part of the launch team for creating several data-based interactive media properties using data and video for 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Union Budgets (2018-21) and several assembly elections (2016-2020).
